Bledisloe Marine Holdings Limited engaged JJR to provide a downwash impact assessment for helicopter operations on the recently designed heliports in Mount Wellington, Auckland, New Zealand.
JJR Involvement :
JJR’s expert team investigated the impact of helicopter downwash on the adjacent property to ensure adherence to the standards outlined in the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 139 (Aerodromes) Manual of Standards 2019 (Part 139 MOS), Air Operations Helicopters and Small Aeroplanes (2019) and AC139-8 – Aerodrome design: Heliports (2018).
The client was provided with a report, which included the estimated downwash velocity caused by the rotorcraft, downwash assessment methodology, wind analysis, calculations, and recommendations to mitigate any adverse effect on adjacent buildings.
