PowerPark Systems manufactures architecturally elegant steel shade structures for large carparks to house solar panels and provide shaded parking areas. The nature of their structures is not well-served by suggestions on limits of deflection for serviceability limits states checks.
JJR Involvement :
In this scope of work, JJR considered the relevant factors associated with deflection acceptance criterion and calculated a bespoke criterion that addresses serviceability of the structures without imposing undue conservatism and cost.
