Project Overview :
Archerfield Airport required the design of a fuel truck for airside operations to cause as little damage as possible to the existing pavements of both the surface and base layers.
JJR Involvement :
The scope of the design and analysis included:
- Determination of appropriate vehicle specifications (GVM, number of axles, tyre pressure, tyre widths);
- Analyse vehicle impact based on existing runway accommodation of 5.7 tonnes;
- Investigation into the potential for a retrofitted fuel tank onto an existing chassis; and
- Final summary of analysis and specification recommendations.
