Project Overview The Mount Isa Airport required widening of taxiways and resealing of existing taxiway and apron areas. Engineering consultancy services were requested to manage the design phase and provide assistance during the construction works.
JJR Involvement The scope of services provided to the client included:

  • Pavement investigations and concept design for QAL review;
  • Adaptation of the existing specifications and drawings (where possible) to suit the new works;
  • Development of “Issue for Tender” drawings and specifications;
  • Finalisation of “Issue for Construction” drawings and specifications after selection of a preferred contractor; and
  • Provision of a signed design certificate stating that the pavement design is adequate for Code B aircraft.
