Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS) for Logan Motorway Works on the Transurban Road Corridor

Project Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS) for Logan Motorway Works on the Transurban Road Corridor
Client McIlwain Civil Engineering Pty Ltd
Project Value $10M – $100M
Project Overview JJR was engaged by McIlwain Civil Engineering (McIlwain) to provide a long-term Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS) for Logan Motorway works on the Transurban Road Corridor, as part of the South Coast Region M1 upgrade works.
JJR Involvement Crossovers were completed by McIlwain to facilitate contraflows for the full pavement rehabilitation works.

The excavation of the median vee-drain and installation of the subsoil drains was undertaken concurrently to provide drainage to the subgrade prior to the excavation of the full pavement depth.

Pavement rehabilitation works were programmed to be completed over four, weekend shutdowns with traffic contra-flowed onto one lane of the westbound carriageway.

JJR’s experienced designers and engineers prepared TGS drawings and report for the Logan Motorway works in accordance with the following standards:

  • QTMR Road Design Planning Manual (RPDM);
  • Traffic Control at Work Sites (TCWS);
  • AS1742 Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD);
  • Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM); and
  • Austroads Guide to Road Design (AGRD).

The TGS report was delivered to McIlwain and included temporary line marking and barriers, risk assessment, and construction staging.
