Mackay Regional Council engaged JJR to assist Council in developing an options study to progress the Milton Bridge Interchange and Shellgrit Creek Detention Basin upgrade projects adjacent to Mackay Airport.
JJR Involvement :
JJR’s expert team reviewed the plans, and provided the client with a report, which included recommendations on the feasibility of the project. A separate report was provided for the Shellgrit Creek Detention Basin Project that recommended the dredging of the detention basin to improve flood protection for South Mackay.
A memorandum was also provided to the client that reviewed the possibility of using cameras and machine learning to detect, monitor and report on wildlife at Shellgrit Creek detention basin with a high-level cost estimate.
