Project Overview Sydney Metro Airports engaged JJR to undertake the physical survey component of Bankstown Airport’s Annual Technical Inspection (ATI) in accordance with the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) 1998 Part 139 Aerodromes and the Manual of Standards Part 139 – Aerodromes.
JJR Involvement JJR covered the following while undertaking the physical component of the ATI, including inspection of signs on the movement area, as well as inspection of facilities at the aerodrome used for any of the following:

  • Aerodrome emergencies;
  • The handling of hazardous materials;
  • Bird and animal hazard management; and
  • Stand-by and emergency aerodrome lighting.

This ATI also included inspection of airside vehicle control arrangements, as well as a check of the currency and accuracy of Aerodrome information published in AIP, as well as Aerodrome operating procedures specified in the Aerodrome Manual for the Bankstown Aerodrome.

JJR ensured that the aerodrome met the requirements for a Certified Aerodrome, that the physical characteristics of the aerodrome complied with relevant standards, that the operating procedures were consistent with the Bankstown Aerodrome Manual, and that staff and management were suitable trained to conduct and supervise the safety related functions of the aerodrome.
