Project Overview Manningham City Council (Council) engaged JJR to prepare concept and detailed design plans for the construction of new footpath networks which will connect the community with well-connected safe and accessible paths of travel.

The scopes of design included the following six packages:

  • Cavalier Street & Kennon Street, Doncaster East
  • Parker Street (High Street to Omar Street), Templestowe Lower
  • Parker Street (McLachlan Street to Milne Street), Templestowe Lower
  • Pound Road, Warrandyte
  • Victoria Street, Doncaster
  • Webb Street, Warrandyte
JJR Involvement JJR’s experienced surveyor performed feature survey using GNSS equipment, to exhibit the existing conditions, features and topography of site in the survey drawings.

JJR developed concept and detailed designs in accordance with the Council’s standard drawings, specifications, and footpath guidelines, as well as relevant standards, which included:

  • Australian Standards:
    • AS1428 – Design for access and mobility;
    • AS4586 – Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials; and
    • AS4970 – Protection of trees on development sites.
  • Austroads Guide to Road Design:
    • Part 6 – Roadside Design, Safety, and Barriers;
    • Part 6A – Pedestrian and Cyclist Paths; and
    • Part 6B – Roadside Environment.
  • VicRoads supplements to Austroads and the Australian Standards.
