Project Overview Jacobs Engineering Group engaged JJR on behalf of BHP to undertake an aeronautical risk assessment of existing high voltage (HV) powerlines near the Olympic Dam Airfield (ODA). The aeronautical risk assessment was part of upgrades investigation for ODA to cater for large commercial jets, including A320 aircraft, and an increase in passengers and air traffic. focus was to consider the runway extension length and to assess the feasibility of the proposed upgrades.
JJR Involvement JJR’s experienced team conducted an Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) survey as part of the aeronautical risk assessment, which confirmed the runway extension length, surveyed take-off and approach movements for ODA, and assessment of the feasibility of the proposed upgrades.
