Olympic Dam Airport is an airport that serves the Olympic Dam mine in South Australia.
Jacobs engaged JJR to undertake an aeronautical assessment to confirm the airport upgrade required for a Code 3C compliance, allowing up to 100-seater aircraft to operate at the Olympic Dam Airport (ODA).
JJR Involvement :
The scope of work required for JJR to prepare the aeronautical risk assessment included:
- Confirm the runway extension length and survey take-off & approach movements for the Olympic Dam Airport (ODA);
- Outline the impacts of the HV powerline on the airfield upgrade;
- Determine the minimum distance that infrastructure needs to be relocated to enable compliant operation up to 100-seater aircraft; and
- Investigate whether the ODA can accommodate the Airbus A320 under payload restrictions.
