Project Value $1M – $10M
Project Overview JJR was engaged by Northern Areas Council (Council) to undertake a Level 3 inspection and load rating of the Hill River Road Bridge and provide Council with a comprehensive assessment of the structure, including superstructure and substructure.

The bridge, located south of Spalding, South Australia was originally constructed in 1891, with the bridge load limit upgraded several times to support transport vehicles.

JJR Involvement JJR’s experienced engineers conducted inspections of the bridge and associated span and piers, using a laser scanner to produce load ratings of the structure in accordance with VicRoads Road Structures Inspection Manual (RSIM). A report was prepared, which included key findings, sketches, photographic evidence, and load carrying capacity of the bridge.
