Project Overview Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL) was looking to improve ground access to the terminals by providing additional carparking space and vehicle storage areas.

SACL engaged Seymour White Constructions for the provision of contractor works to complete the project which subsequently engaged JJR for the provision of works specifications, temporary works design, optioneering and general consultancy services involving several elements and deliverables to assist with the works.

JJR Involvement The main deliverables for this project included a range of tasks on various sub-projects, including:

  • Temporary bridge design works for a Super-T girder bridge which was being widened (accessing General Holmes Drive);
  • Assisting with procurement of subcontractors for various bridge works packages and other civil packages;
  • Design management of upgraded accesses to staff car parking in the Norther Airport Precinct (NAP);
  • Management of crane permits in accordance with Sydney Airport requirements;
  • Design management of the Northern Airport Precinct (NAP) Stage 3;
  • Procurement of heritage specialist services and provision of structural engineering design of protected heritage sea walls; and
  • Development of planning reports to ensure that any developments comply with the National Aerodrome Safeguarding Framework (NASF).
