Project Overview To ensure the safety of the vessel, East Gippsland Shire Council required an assessment on the structural hull integrity of the Raymond Island Ferry, including identification of future maintenance requirements and life cycle costing.
JJR Involvement JJR was engaged to perform a detailed hull inspection and develop a maintenance program to guide future maintenance and inspections of the vessel.

In addition, JJR also performed analysis of the vessel’s operational maintenance costs and provided commercial advisory services to verify the sustainability of council’s existing fee structure, in regards to ongoing service operation costs, in the context of Asset Life Integrity Management analysis.

JJR also undertook a 3D laser scan of the ferry and obtained hull thickness tests to inform the hull structural integrity assessment.
