Client :
Venues New South Wales
Project Value :
Project Overview :

Venues New South Wales engaged JJR to conduct a comprehensive review of the existing Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS) operations, specifically in relation to the development of the Newcastle Knights Centre of Excellence. This review was prompted by a submission made during the Development Application (DA) process with Newcastle City Council.

JJR Involvement :

JJR’s expert team investigated the impact of helicopter downwash on adjacent areas to ensure compliance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 139 (Aerodromes) Manual of Standards 2019 (Part 139 MOS) and NSW Health.
The client was provided with a report, which included the estimated downwash velocity caused by the rotorcraft, downwash assessment methodology, wind analysis, calculations, and recommendations to mitigate any adverse effect on adjacent buildings.
