John Holland Rail (JHR) appointed JJR to carry out load rating exercises of steel, pretensioned and reinforced concrete overbridges on both Country Regional Network (CRN) and Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) llines, as well as impact assessments on piers etc. for the overbridges to inform JJR’s concept designs of any required upgrades to meet AS5100 requirements.
JJR Involvement :
JJR conducted load rating assessments of the overbridges against the traffic loading provided by JHR and relevant authorities.
Prior to conducting the load rating assessment, JJR collated and analysed data using scanned historical engineering drawings and to confirm whether rehabilitation works were recorded, closely examined photographs and reviewed inspection reports provided by JHR.
JJR delivered to JHR a load rating assessment report that included the load capacity and rating factor for each component of the overbridges, as well as controls and recommendations.
