Walgett Shire Council engaged JJR to prepare functional and detailed design drawings of the kerb, gutter and footpath for three local roads in Lightning Ridge and Collarenebri.
JJR Involvement :
JJR’s experienced engineers conducted a feature survey of all site streets in accordance with AS5488 to gain geospatial understanding of the existing underground services. This information was used to prepare functional and detailed design drawings, which also considered the following guidelines and Australian Standards (AS):
- AS1428 – Design for access and mobility;
- AS4586 – Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials; and
- AS4970 – Protection of trees on development sites.
- Austroads Guide to Road Design;
- Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) supplements to Austroads and the Australian Standards;
- Council standard drawings and specifications; and
- Council footpath guidelines.
Following client confirmation on detailed design drawings, JJR prepared and submitted to the client, Issue for Tender (IFT) and Issue for Construction (IFC) design drawings, as well as a thorough Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and a design report, which included calculations and Cost Estimate.
