Forestrack engaged JJR to provide a downwash impact assessment for helicopter operations and a review of the proposed Helicopter Landing Site (HLS) associated with the development of an Emergency Services Facility at Hume, Canberra.
JJR Involvement :
JJR’s expert team investigated the impact of helicopter downwash on buildings near the proposed HLS in compliance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 139 (Aerodromes) Manual of Standards 2019 (Part 139 MOS).
The client was provided with a report, which included the estimated downwash velocity caused by the rotorcraft, downwash assessment methodology, wind analysis, calculations, and recommendations to mitigate any adverse effect on adjacent buildings.
