Essendon fields had contracted JJR to provide a footing design for the English St Central Median East Water Fountain. The footing system associated with the fountain was to be interconnected with two reinforced concrete strip footings and a reinforced concrete one-way slab simply supported on each strip footing.
JJR Involvement :
JJR provided engineering drawings and a design certificate for the project, however, the footing design was found to be excessive, and was reduced by reviewing the footing for the statue and recommending a new design with smaller sections as well as the removal of the central footing.
This innovative thinking from JJR resulted in a cost-saving to the client.
