The City of Ballarat engaged JJR to provide concept and detailed designs for the upgrade of Ballarat Airport’s runway.
JJR Involvement :
JJR’s expert engineers designed the upgrade of Runway 18/36 to support the following aviation activities:
- Accommodating large firefighting/emergency services aircrafts;
- Facilitating Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) services;
- Supporting larger commercial freight aircraft;
- Catering to corporate aircraft operators and private charter services;
- Welcoming new aviation ventures to the airport, fostering increased flight training and maintenance opportunities; and
- Mitigating existing constraints to enable the accommodation of various aircraft types and volumes.
The client received a comprehensive presentation including concept and detailed design drawings, along with a thorough report. This presentation ensured that all necessary planning permissions for the runway extension were in place.
